A brilliant approach to PE for online schools

Many virtual or online schools struggle to deliver a meaningful, learning-focused physical education curriculum. Indeed, many simply do not include it. You will be familiar with the challenges that this subject area presents.

If you are interested in a contemporary and inclusive approach to high quality physical education for your school, we invite you to read on. We have developed a package like no other that will support your learners, inform their families and allow you to position your school as offering a truly outstanding, holistic curriculum

Our Objective

To help every student develop a positive relationship with physical activity.

What does this look like?

Strong evidence to indicate that your school’s students are enjoying ongoing and rewarding physical activity experiences.

Young people leading active lives is too important to be a mere aspiration

How do we achieve this?

As expert and experienced educators, we believe positive behaviours are a result of powerful learning. We have devised a unique curriculum to sit alongside our technology to ensure your students meet the goals outlined above.e possible.

Our guiding principles

The miMove Platform

miMove’s mission is to embrace technology to support the long standing, universal goal of physical education - to ensure every student develops a positive relationship with physical activity.

miMove is the world’s only purpose built digital platform that starts with the young person. Our platform gives each student their own spotlight and megaphone allowing them to be seen and heard, supported and celebrated. When students sign into their miMove account they easily record their physical activity experiences - what, where, how long for, who with and most importantly, how the activity felt. They are able to reflect and store videos and photos that have meaning to them. This information is shared only with the school. Students can not communicate with each other. Here's a short video showing you how it works.

By engaging with miMove, students are sharing their activity data with those who care - physical education professionals who can then use this insight data to make better professional decisions, chart and evidence programme impact in ways that have never previously been possible.

Having launched just before the world went into lockdown in 2020, the platform was inadvertently and successfully tested in lots of schools that overnight had to embrace virtual learning.

Curriculum content

The curriculum structure would be such that students record their activities on miMove each week. The online lessons can be synchronous or asynchronous. Synchronous lessons obviously allow for more personalised and in depth learning conversation. These can be delivered by school staff or miMove’s subject experts. Please see the packages below to see the range of options available.

Students use their miMove data to reflect on their experiences and support their learning.

Our progressive curriculum caters for KS2 through to KS5 and is divided into modules that can be divided into 3 key domains, physical, cognitive and affective. These combine to form a holistic approach to knowledge acquisition and enhancing understanding so that students can make sense of their active worlds. Here are some sample modules from each domain.

  3. Activity specific projects
