Launching miMove with your students
Everything you need to successfully introduce miMove — from explaining the 'why' to getting students signed in and ready to go
Schools that have the best launches
- Communicate effectively to colleagues, students nd parents
- Create excitement and energy by having a great launch followed by a launch campaign that encourages students to use miMove
1. Set a launch date with launch event(s)
Most schools launch with an assembly. Some schools follow up or repeat this in lessons or pastoral time. The more teachers that are onboard, the better. They will add enthusiasm and be able to answer student questions. If you would like us to do an in-person or online induction for staff (30 mins max), simply email us with dates and times.
We have prepared these 10 slides for you to present in an assembly or in class time. Download and feel free to edit with your school name, badge etc.
These cover:
- Why we are using miMove
- What miMove is (and what it is not)
- What is success
- Data protection
- How to sign in
2. Select a launch campaign
Announce the campaign at the launch event.
Here are some simple, energising and inclusive campaigns that schools have used for successful launches:
Inter-class, form or house challenges- First group to have every student post 2 activities
- First groups to collectively record X activities or Y minutes of activity
- How many different activities can your group record this month or this half term
Make it visible
- Have a leader board displayed
- Feature the leader board in assemblies and your newsletter
How to retrieve the data
There are a number of quick options depending on your campaign:
For campaign 1
Go to Activities > Select Class > Select suitable number of students per page so you can see every student and simply scan to see that every student has at least 2 in the Activities column
