About the guidelines
Explaining what the activity guidelines mean and where they come from
The World Health Organization recommends that children and young people average at least 60 minutes of moderate-to-vigorous physical activity each day across the week to support their health and wellbeing in children and young people aged 5-18.
This indicator shows how the activity recorded in miMove compares with that guideline. It is intended to give you a helpful sense of your child's activity over time - not a daily target they need to hit.
Numbers are important but they are not everything. The quality of your child's experiences matters too. Enjoying movement and finding activities they want to return to are important parts of developing a positive, lasting, healthy relationship with physical activity. You can use miMove to see how your child feels about the activities they record by seeing their emotional response (emoji) by each activity.
